To update your old oak kitchen, try this idea. Change the oak color with a white paint with a subtle undertone. Add a bright color to the interior of your glass cabinets. It won't show through too strong and you can add that color back in plants, accessories and dishes. The walls are a slightly different hue of white. Old oak flooring can be painted rather than replaced to make it new again. Here a floor paint in blue, complements the new white and makes the room glow.
