1 Hour DIY Marble Tray

  1. Need a project that will take only one hour but give you a lifetime of use and pleasure? A marble tray is elegant and useful. This is a great hostess gift.

WHAT YOU NEED:
1 marble tile
2 inexpensive cabinet pulls
Drop cloth
Spray paint - I used Rustoleum in metallic silver
Adhesive: I like e600
  1. Work in a well ventilated area. Cover the surrounding area with a drop cloth to prevent overspray. Paint inexpensive ($1.99) pulls in a metallic finish to resemble stainless, brass or other metal that complements the veins in your marble tile.  Move the can of Rust-Oleum® in a back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Allow to dry for 24 hours. Flip handles over once fully dry and repeat the painting process. Allow to dry.
  2. Attach the two painted handles to your marble tile with a maximum strength adhesive glue. Allow to dry for 24 hours. Use your finished tray as an appetizer tray, a bathroom organizer, on a coffee table, a table centerpiece and more.
  3. If you are more experienced you can use a stone cutting bit to drill holes where your handles go and countersink the screws. Attach the handles with screws from the bottom. I use felt or cork pads to cover the holes.
