HOLIDAY DECOR 10 tips

These are be a bit different....but dramatic and easy.

1. Cut poinsettia or other wintry flowers, place in floral tubes (clear test-tube shape for water) and place in garlands, wreaths and on the tree.

2. Swap out the bedding in your guest room with red and white. Bold yet comfortable and very festive.

3. Use a nicely shaped branch - found outside or at a local craft store - and place into a low pot or planter.  Spray with touches of gold or silver, hand tie plastic ornaments on, and place outside as entry decor. Used inside you can place in a great vase and use glass ornaments.

4. Gather some glass hurricane sleeves, some terra cotta pots or other planter and sand. Fill pots with sand, fit hurricane deep into the sand, add a candle, tie on a ribbon, add pine cones, or spray the pot. Use as lanterns to guide guests up your exterior walkway or stairs.

5. Cover up your tree stand with an oak barrel, large ceramic planter, basket or anything that fits. You can use the container elsewhere during the year and create a finished look for Christmas.

6. Use previous year holiday cards as ornaments, gift tags and even photocopy onto fabric to create place mats and napkins. Use a grapevine or faux evergreen base and add this year's collection of cards to create a wreath.

7. Too many ornaments to hang on the tree?  Hang in a window, from a doorway, or fill a glass canister and use as a centerpiece.

8. Fill glass or plastic ornaments with older holiday decor
